Highlife musician, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah has said that hardships abroad are more severe than the suffering Ghanaians are going through under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
After the 2024 manifesto launch by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kaakyire Kwame Appiah reiterated the need for Ghanaians to allow Dr Bawumia to continue despite the hardships in the country.
“There are crises everywhere in the world and people are suffering so it’s not in Ghana alone but why do I still say that Bawumia should continue even though I have a foreign passport?
“Whenever I travel abroad and I see the kind of crises and suffering there I can’t stay there for long that’s why almighty countries like France and Germany are crying,” he told Amansan Krakye.
“A bag of rice that we used to buy in America for $14.99 some time ago when I went there recently for a show, the price is now $44.99 meaning it has increased by $30.
“So are you telling me that Bawumia is the one asking for prices to be increased when we know in Africa that most of our transactions are in dollars which are being controlled by external forces,” he argued..
