Executive Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Dr. Tony Aubynn has charged Black Stars Coach Otto Addo to up his game before the world cup 2022 in Qatar.
Otto Addo, who has won two out of six games since he took over as coach, has been the subject of public scrutiny as questions of team selection and player call-ups have left many questioning his technical abilities.
The Black Stars in the last 3 games haven’t been convincing and this Tony Aubyn thinks is worrying.
“We all see his strategy but you know when you send soldiers to the war field, you tell them to go here, and then when they start in a very weak way, you cannot blame the general or the captain but he is part of it and he bares the ultimate responsibility so he has to up his game,” he told Beach FM in an interview.
He continued by asking Ghanaians to give Otto Addo time since he is in his early days on the job.
“But we need to give him time. You know He is working with top technical men in football so I have confidence in them, in the team of technical men for the black stars”
Otto Addo qualified for the Black Stars World Cup to be played in Qatar 2022 as an interim coach after the team had missed the previous edition in Russia. He eliminated rivals Nigeria before achieving that feat.
Ghana is in Group H with Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
