Three people have died in an accident at Gomoa Mprumem on the Mankessim to Winneba highway in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region.
A Toyota Hiace mini commercial bus with registration number CR 805-224 transporting passengers crashed on Thursday, September 8, 2024, evening, which left three dying on the spot and eight others critically injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when the speeding driver burst a tyre, causing the vehicle to crash and later get burnt.
It took the timely intervention of personnel from the Apam and Winneba Fire Service stations to quench the fire and rescue those who had been trapped in the vehicle.
The deceased has been deposited at St. Luke Catholic Hospital Morgue, while the injured persons are receiving treatment at the Winneba Specialist and Trauma Hospital.
