One of the leading members of Arise Ghana, Rex Omar has stated that the recent demonstration by the pressure group has started yielding positive results following the strike action declared by the Teacher Unions.
The demonstration by Arise Ghana was intended to protest the rising economic hardships in the country coupled with the increasing rate of inflation which has led to upward adjustments in the prices of goods and services.
Talking to Amansan Krakye on Cape Coast-based Kastle FM, he said “Arise Ghana is not just an organization for demonstration, demonstration is only one aspect of our the things we want to do.
“So yes, the demonstration is achieving results because just two days after our demonstration government is going to IMF,” Rex Omar said in an interview monitored by eghnews.com
He explained “Just two days after our demonstration so many things are happening and this is just the beginning so it’s very important and for the demonstration, we’ve just started so it will continue.
“Until our petition that we gave to the Minister of Finance and the petition we gave to parliament until we see a practical implementation of some of the things we proposed we are not going to stop,” he ended on the Kastle Entertainment Show.
Teacher Unions in the country have effective from Monday, July 4, 2022, commenced a nationwide strike action as a result of the failure of the government to meet their demand for a 20% Cost of Living Allowance.
