Some KNUST lecturers return to lecture halls following suspension of UTAG strike

Some lecturers at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have begun returning to the lecture halls after the school’s management asked them to resume lectures following the suspension of strike by the National Executive Committee of UTAG.

During a visit to KNUST campus on Thursday morning, some UTAG members were seen teaching their students.

However, many students, particularly first years, were stranded as some classes were cancelled.

In some instances, no reasons were given as to why some lecturers were unable to attend classes, as they were not able to reach them at all.

Some students who spoke to Citi News expressed their frustration.

“Some of us returned to school immediately we heard the strike had been suspended. Already, we have missed out on a lot. We hoped that since the suspension of the strike, we will zoom in immediately to make time for all we missed. We are ready, but some of our lecturers have cancelled the classes,” a student lamented.

Another student said, “we are stranded here. We were ready to go to class till we were informed our first two lectures had been cancelled. This is so frustrating.”
