Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on Zongo communities to reject the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections.
Addressing a gathering in Nkoranza, Dr Prempeh, also known as Napo, claimed that the NDC plans to demolish mosques in Zongo areas to construct mortuaries.
He criticized the NDC’s track record, alleging, “The NDC is known for violence and has been responsible for the disappearance of religious leaders and the deaths of traditionalists. Their policies will only harm the Zongo community.”
Dr. Prempeh emphasized that the NPP is committed to the welfare of Zongo communities, promising the construction of hospitals and free education for children. He urged voters to choose the NPP for a brighter future.
He also referenced former President John Dramani Mahama’s 2020 manifesto, which mentioned plans to improve mortuary services by Islamic customs. “The NDC claims to address the needs of Muslim communities, but their actions suggest otherwise,” Dr. Prempeh added.
He urged voters to choose between the NPP’s vision of progress and the NDC’s alleged intentions.
