National Democratic Congress (NDC) firebrand Joshua Akamba, has reiterated his position that party members stand a better chance to benefit from the next NDC government comes after the 2024 polls.
He says the party will not make such grave mistakes as it did in the past after what the NPP has shown in government that party foot-soldiers come first.
The NDC organizer in an in-studio discussion monitored by MyNewsGh.com vehemently said he considers party matters as government matters and as such must be treated special especially, parry members who toiled for the party to come to power.
He was on EIB Networks English platform in Kumasi, Ultimate 106.9 FM
‘‘The ordinary foot soldier on the ground is so intelligent, that is why I am saying that and I am repeating myself again, I am waiting for the NDC to win power and let somebody, I don’t want to insult and let someone tell me that go and bring your certificate before you are given a job’’
‘‘go to the branches and find out the people contesting in the branches, who have asked them for their certificate, before they gave them the power, party matter is also government matter’’ he said.
‘‘Party matter is a government matter, listen double who is holding guns and shooting people, are you aware of him, when he was dragged before that commission (Ayawaso Wuogon Commission) he said he was a phone repairer, do you know how many days it takes you to fix phones, party matter is government matter and I mean it’’
Mr. Akamba intimated that emphasizing so much on certificates has brought us nowhere in this country noting that, when it even came to the drafting of the 1992 constitution, the so-called lawyers run away leaving individuals without certificates to put the document together.
‘That nonsense as a country must stop, how many people have degrees’’
‘‘book knowledge doesn’t work abroad’’
‘‘Do you know that it’s the technical people and people with skills, the carpenters, the masons, the steel benders, the truck pushers, were the ones that drafted the constitution, didn’t the lawyers run away?’ he quizzed.
‘‘So now you are waiting for our government to come to power and people will come and accuse us again, no never.’’
