A Taxi driver who plies the Kpone-Katamanso stretch in the Greater Accra Region has recounted how pregnant women give birth in their cabs due to the deplorable state of the roads.

According to the taxi driver who spoke to JoyPrime on Constituency Lens, the bad state of the roads forces him to take his car to the car for a wash every day.

He further blamed the DCE of the constituency, Hon. Alhaji E. A. Tetteh as being the the main reason why the roads are not fixed causing a lot of women to give birth unexpectedly in cars.

“From Community 22 to this stretch, the road is in a bad state. Most of my friends who also drive taxis cannot ply this road anymore due to the nature of the roads. I take my taxi to the washing bay every day and it is unbearable.”

“The DCE is the main enemy. He’s the reason the roads are unfixed. He is the reason why pregnant women go into labour and give birth in our cars.” He claimed

Another driver also lamented about how it takes more than 30 minutes to ply a road which should take 5 minutes to drive on if the roads were good.

He disclosed how he reported the condition of the roads to the Assembly severally but nothing was done about it.

The driver also mentioned how some residents also pour bath water and soapy water on the roads but the assembly has turned a blind eye to the actions.
