I always wept when I was suspended from NPP – Kwabena Agyepong

Former Chief Scribe of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong says it got to a time he always wept anytime he goes to bed.

He said the tears naturally rolled down his cheeks because he could not live with the fact that people he had worked with could fabricate lies against his person in order to destroy him and destroy his family.

“I’m pained because If you give everything to your party…I’ve overcome it. It got a time anytime I’m in bed and I look at the ceiling I start to weep because you don’t expect people…Elders of the party who I’ve worked with from Adu Boahen’s time to Kufour’s time till Akufo-Addo’s time…

Akufo-Addo knows me. I’ve known him for long and when I knew him he was not even a known brand. I started with five other people to push his Presidential Ambition. Out of the 68 MPs that we had only three decided to support him because by then Kufour was the eminent figure and he had lost election in 1996.”

Forever Product

Kwabena Agyei Agyapong disclosed that to date, the two petitioners who claimed he had sold the NPP’s election fortunes to the NDC for a car have been faceless.

He says because the party and people who did not like him wanted him out, due process was not followed in the processes that led to his suspension but he kept his cool to protect the party.

Kwabena Agyei Agyepong expressed worry over the fact that Ghanaians and NPP members who lived abroad during the time rained insults on him anytime they had events and described him with several demeaning words because to them, he did not like Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

It could be remembered that Kwabena Agyei Agyepong and some other National Officers of the New Patriotic Party were suspended by the party prior to the election of 2016.

The National Officers were said to be against the candidature of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and were working towards the failure of the party in 2016.
