Kadmiel Akonnor, son of former Ghana coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor has come to the defense of his father after he was sacked.
Akonnor was sacked after Ghana’s defeat to South Africa in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Ghana Football Association technical team after a review of the report from the game decided to terminate the appointment of the former Asante Kotoko coach.
He was replaced by Serbian coach Milovan Rajevac who was sacked after Ghana’s exit from the AFCON.
Kadmiel in an interview on Hitz FM said his father did not fail as Black Stars coach despite losing his job in the qualifiers.
“He did not fail in anyway. He was given a task and he was able to do it. He did what he was supposed to do. I was very down and sad but he is a strong man so all is well”.
