Ghana winger Osman Bukari moves to Serbia

Black Stars winger Osman Bukari has joined Red Star Belgrade on a four-year deal from KAA Gent in Belgium.

The Serbian giants announced the transfer on Tuesday. Bukari was unveiled after passing medical and will wear the number 19 shirt.

Buhari’s transfer is said to be a club record, meaning Red Star paid more than 3 million euros for the attacker.

“My first impression is great. I was doing great already now and I am very happy to be here,” Bukari said.

Bukari also spoke about his qualities but also emphasized that he can play in several positions.

“I can play on both sides, and I manage when I play behind the attacker. It is not a problem for me to play against teams that are mostly defending themselves. I can “breakthrough” any defense and I always find my way to the goal.”

The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Nantes, where he helped them win the French Cup.

Bukari scored his first goal for Ghana earlier this month in a 3-0 win over Madagascar in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Cape Coast
