The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has given the Ministry of Education a two-week deadline to resolve challenges faced by professional teachers within the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.

NAGRAT raised concerns over the lack of consultation with teacher representatives during the development of the scheme of service for TVET teachers, as well as the migration of teachers from the Ghana Education Service to TVET without their consent.

Speaking to Citi News, NAGRAT President Angel Carbonu said the union has met with the Ministry and agreed on a two-week timeline to address these issues.

“We have had a meeting and [during that meeting], the authorities have identified the anomalies and that they have also put measures in place to solve the anomalies.

“So we are supposed to give them two weeks to address the anomalies and then we will reconvene, look at the way the anomalies have been solved and then we will take it from there.”
