Anti-Gay Bill: What happened to your Ghana Beyond Aid Policy – Ghanaians ask Gov’t

The Finance Ministry has urged the President of Ghana not to sign the anti-gay bill into law.

The Ministry cites Ghana’s inability to access funding and aid from the developed world as the main reason why the president need not assent to the bill.

However, this has raised a question on social media about Ghana’s reliance on aid since the New Patriotic Party’s mantra, “Ghana Beyond Aid,” which was a major campaign message in 2016.

To users of X, it is a shame that the NPP which said the country does not need aid is shying away from passing into law the anti-gay bill just because they do not want to lose out of aid provided to the country by International bodies.
