The Gomoa Okyereko police station in the Central region is in disarray as its roof was torn off during a heavy downpour, leaving officers stranded.

The intense rainfall in the municipality not only resulted in the roof’s destruction but also caused extensive damage to documents, furniture, and computers on Thursday.

Furthermore, the newly commissioned roof of the Kasoa Bulk Distribution office and 20 other houses in Gomoa Ojobi have suffered similar damage.

Expressing concern after inspecting the extent of the destruction, the Chief of Gomoa Okyereko, Nana Kofi Donkor, appealed urgently for the authorities to repair the police station’s roof. He emphasized the officers’ role in reducing crime and road accidents in the area.

The Central East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Owusu Bempah, and his team are currently on-site inspecting the damage.
