A Member of Parliament(MP) for Old Tafo in the Ashanti Region, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has retained his seat after beating close rival Dr Louise Carol for the second time.

He polled 367 of the total votes cast against Louise Carol Serwaa Donkor, who polled 337.

The constituency recorded six rejected ballots.

This is the second time Ekow Vincent has beaten Louise Carol after the 2020 elections that brought him to power.

Ekow Vincent transitioned from being the Public Relations Manager of the Ministry of Education to being a Member of Parliament.

Louise Carol gained prominence after her attack on the grassroots on Facebook, an action that led to her suspension and later unpopularity among the grassroots of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
